PRN CRNA – Flexible Hospital Shifts at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall

Job Description

Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall is offering a per diem opportunity for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists seeking flexible hospital-based work in Newburgh, New York. This position supports the anesthesia department with variable shift lengths and is ideal for CRNAs looking to supplement income or maintain clinical exposure in an acute care setting.

The role involves delivering anesthesia services for a wide range of inpatient and outpatient procedures while working within a medically directed care team. Candidates with adaptable availability are strongly preferred, as shift coverage may vary based on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for surgical, procedural, and diagnostic cases
• Continuously assess and monitor patients throughout all phases of anesthesia
• Administer anesthetic agents and respond to physiologic changes as needed
• Coordinate care with anesthesiologists and perioperative staff
• Ensure anesthesia equipment readiness and compliance with safety standards
• Document care accurately and follow institutional clinical protocols

Compensation & Benefits

• W-2 per diem compensation at $185 per hour
• Optional 1099 engagement at $200–$220 per hour
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half when applicable
• Malpractice coverage included

Schedule & Work Environment

• PRN scheduling with no call requirements
• Multiple shift lengths available: 8, 10, or 12 hours
• Hospital-based anesthesia department
• Medically directed practice model
• Single-facility assignment

Case Mix

• Orthopedic and general surgical procedures
• Neurosurgical and trauma-related cases on occasion
• Thoracic and vascular procedures
• Selective obstetric and pediatric exposure
• No chronic pain service responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Completion of an accredited CRNA education program
• Active or eligible New York CRNA licensure
• Current NBCRNA certification
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Ability to function effectively in a supervised anesthesia model
• New graduate candidates will be considered
