PRN CRNA – Ophthalmic Surgery | Southwestern Eye Center | Sierra Vista

Job Description

Southwestern Eye Center, part of American Vision Partners — one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive ophthalmology networks — is seeking a PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia services at its Sierra Vista, Arizona surgery center. This is a flexible, weekday-only opportunity with no nights, weekends, or call required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care in a high-quality ophthalmic surgery environment.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and formulate individualized anesthetic plans.
• Administer anesthesia using techniques such as peribulbar, retrobulbar, topical, local infiltration, IV sedation, and/or analgesia.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure safe and effective anesthesia delivery.
• Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of each patient’s anesthesia record.
• Assist in managing any anesthesia-related clinical emergencies if they arise.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing and anesthesia program
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona
• NBCRNA certification required
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience and/or strong skills in ophthalmic anesthesia techniques preferred
• Minimum of one year of peri-orbital anesthesia experience recommended
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and decision-making abilities

Schedule & Work Environment

• PRN coverage — alternating Mondays and Tuesdays
• Daytime schedule only (no nights or weekends)
• Outpatient ophthalmic surgery center
