PRN Pediatric CRNA – Raleigh Children’s Surgery Center

Job Description

Raleigh Children’s Surgery Center is seeking a part-time or PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with pediatric experience to support a busy ambulatory surgery center focused on dental restorative and oral surgery procedures. This position offers consistent weekday scheduling in a highly specialized outpatient environment dedicated to pediatric and young adult care.

The CRNA in this role will provide general anesthesia services for patients ranging from approximately 18 months through young adulthood, including individuals with special needs. Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide general anesthesia for pediatric and young adult patients in an ambulatory surgery center
• Manage airway techniques including nasal intubation
• Deliver anesthesia care for dental restorative and oral surgery procedures
• Care for patients with special needs and varying medical complexities
• Maintain vigilance for patient safety throughout the perioperative period
• Collaborate with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia colleagues to ensure efficient OR flow

Practice Environment

• Ambulatory surgery center specializing in pediatric dental and oral surgery
• Patient population from approximately 10 kg through higher BMI ranges
• Monday through Friday schedule
• 7:00 AM operating room start time
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities
• Medically directed anesthesia model

Quality & Collaboration

The surgery center operates in alignment with nationally recognized anesthesia and patient safety standards, including guidelines from professional anesthesia and pediatric organizations. The CRNA will work closely with facility leadership, including the administrator, director of nursing, and medical director, contributing to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Compensation & Employment Details

• PRN or part-time availability
• 1099 independent contractor position

Job Requirements

• Current CRNA licensure
• NBCRNA certification
• Active ACLS and PALS certifications
• Pediatric anesthesia experience required
• Comfort with nasal intubations and pediatric airway management
• Experience with special needs patients preferred
